I think the Haskell scene could only improve if Haskell was adopted by Microsoft. Think about it: an endorsement from a global megacorp like Microsoft would have programmers defecting to Haskell in droves. Microsoft is not the great Satan, and it's harmful to think that way. I do believe it's too powerful, but that's because corporations are too powerful in general, it's not a specific problem with Microsoft.
