Last Call for Papers (Less than 60 days to submission deadline!)
----------------------------------------------------------------

The IV Brazilian Symposium on Programming Languages (SBLP’2000) will be held at
Recife,
on the northeastern coast of Brazil, on May 17-19, 2000. The symposium is sponsored
by
the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) and aims to provide a forum where researchers,
educators, and practitioners present and discuss the latest work on Programming
Language technologies and theories.

We invite authors to contribute to SBLP’2000 with the following (three) kinds of
submission:

   * Technical research papers introducing original research results on topics such
as the following (but not exclusively):
        - Programming language design and implementation
        - Formal semantics of programming languages
        - Domain-specific programming languages
        - Visual programming languages
        - Programming languages for mobile, WWW, and network computing
        - Scripting languages
        - Architecture description languages
        - Design and implementation of programming tools and environments
        - Novel programming models
        - Theoretical foundations of programming languages
        - Programming language teaching

   * Experience reports on the industrial use of programming languages, tools, and
environments. The reports should clearly state the problems and difficulties
identified when using those technologies on real projects, possibly giving
solutions to those problems or hints to avoid them.

   * Tutorials on modern programming languages, APIs, tools, environments, and
theories.

Contributions should be written in Portuguese, English, or Spanish. All accepted
submissions
will be published in the symposium proceedings, but the accepted contributions written
in
English will also be tentatively published as a volume of Electronic Notes in
Theoretical
Computer Science.

There will also be special invited lectures and tutorials, panels with the focus of
setting
the research agenda for the new millennium, and working meetings to closely group
professionals interested on specific research topics.
