Oh, I'd heard of "Mail.app" but I hadn't twigged that that was the same thing as the MUA which labelled itself as "Apple Mail" on the message I received. > How about its complete disregard for IMAP subscriptions? > > My mail backup scripts automatically archive old mail into mailboxes > that I don't subscribe to by default, so I can still hook back up to > them and search them if need be. *Very* old stuff is in a > subdirectory and gzipped. > > Guess which mail client scans EVERY file in your IMAP root, regardless > of subscription, including trying to read .gz files? C'mon, guess! All of those sound like things which only hurt you if you use the piece of software in question -- so can be avoided. Whereas the hate inflicted on me is caused by _other_ people using Mail.app. It doesn't matter how much less my mail client sucks if other people's screw up the mail sent my way. > Needless to say, I use Thunderbird on OSX. :P Ah, that reminds me ... a hate about receiving mail sent from Thunderbird coming up. (Thanks.) Smylers
