Oh, I'd heard of "Mail.app" but I hadn't twigged that that was the same
thing as the MUA which labelled itself as "Apple Mail" on the message I
received.

All of those sound like things which only hurt you if you use the piece
of software in question -- so can be avoided.  Whereas the hate
inflicted on me is caused by _other_ people using Mail.app.  It doesn't
matter how much less my mail client sucks if other people's screw up the
mail sent my way.

Ah, that reminds me ... a hate about receiving mail sent from
