We're clearly not ready to remove HQL outright. The plan at this point is to freeze HQL as it is now and plan on replacing it with a new shell utility that is more flexible and powerful while also requiring less work to maintain. This may be in 0.2 or 0.3.

This is a first release of a hbase.
A hql package should be removed before release.

Someday it will be gone, Do it now.

Does it work for you? Do unit tests pass on your hardware? Is the
documentation sufficient?

Should we release this? Vote closes on Monday, March 24.
