Given that hadoop community is talking about two code lines 0.20.2xx and 0.23.x
(which are incompatible enough to necessitate shims layer) which will be
supported in medium term, we have to support both. So, its looks likely that
more such incompatibilities will come up and then we have to do the shims and
all of this will then need to reworked. So, I am inclined to do shims right
now.
