Hi,

rfMRI_REST2_LR_Atlas.dtseries.nii is a CIFTI dense timeseries file. It
contains all of the grey matter timeseries (cortex modeled on surfaces and
subcortical nuclei modeled in the volume) sampled at 2mm spacing. For
more details on CIFTI, see this paper:

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1053811913005053

rfMRI_REST2_LR_s2.atlasroi.L.32k_fs_LR.func.gii is a GIFTI file, but it
appears the version of the matlab GIFTI toolbox you are using has a bug in
it. Please contact Guillaume Flandin [email protected] who maintains
the GIFTI toolbox and CC me and we can get this sorted out for you (I
think a previous version worked okay).

There should be no distortions in the preprocessed fMRI data, so you would
need to post some screenshots of what you think is a distortion.

Peace,

Matt.
