For task fMRI, the issue is discussed some here, though there was a strong desire to use the same imaging protocol for the task fMRI and resting state fMRI:
Is there a specific reason you are concerned about the multi-band imaging?
Of course, collecting both conventional and multi-band would have either left us with either half as much data, or it would have cost twice and much with twice as much subject burden.
