Dear HCP support community, I have a query about some of the clinical measures included as restricted data elements in the HCP S500 release.
In the reference manual, and in some associated papers (e.g. Barch et al, 2013, Neuroimage 80, pp 169-89), the semi-structured assessment for the genetics of alcoholism (SSAGA) is reported as using DSM-IV criteria. However, the references that are cited for this instrument (Bucholz et al 1994 and Hesselbrock et al 1999, cited in both documents) indicate that the SSAGA is based on DSM-III-R criteria. Could you please confirm which is the case? Two related questions are: 1. Was a modified version of the SSAGA administered? 2. Was the SSAGA-II used rather than the SSAGA?
