A parcel is another word for an area. These can be either volume or
surface-based. A vertex is the smallest unit of the surface and has 3D
coordinates in millimeter space and is linked to other vertices by edges.

Peace,

Matt.

Subject: [HCP-Users] vertex,parcel

Dear HCP experts,
There are WM/GM surface and pial surface. I think vertices and parcels are
things to represent these surfaces, but I’m still confused with these two
nouns. You know, there is a backtracking algorithm to divide surface into
different number of regions with each region having its cortical thickness.
What the algorithm need are also vertices and parcels. What’s the parcel’s
meaning?
Thanks.
