It is not about the input file. I'm talking about the C source code file. You are creating this dataset right after file create: dset37 = H5Dcreate(file, DATASET37, H5T_IEEE_F32BE, space37, H5P_DEFAULT, H5P_DEFAULT, H5P_DEFAULT); no intermediate groups have been created yet. The solution is simple, just create the groups before this call!
You can use the search utility in your editor to look for dset37 and where it is created to fix this problem.
