I've updated the patch slightly to fix Jenkins test failures. I think the patch 
works with all existing unit tests now. Will wait for another Jenkins run.

[~jingzhao] Given that Bo is still in holiday and the DataStreamer refactor in 
trunk will take some more time, do you think we can commit this functional 
patch first? Since we are close to finish a minimum NN prototype, this client 
patch can help us do some preliminary end-to-end tests. When HDFS-7793 is in we 
can do a follow-on JIRA.
