Íñigo Goiri updated HDFS-10467: ------------------------------- Release Note: HDFS Router-based Federation adds a RPC routing layer that provides a federated view of multiple HDFS namespaces. This is similar to the existing ViewFS and HDFS federation functionality, except the mount table is managed on the server-side by the routing layer rather than on the client. This simplifies access to a federated cluster for existing HDFS clients. See HDFS-10467 and the HDFS Router-based Federation documentation for more details. was: HDFS Router-Based Federation adds a routing layer to provide a federated view of multiple namespaces. Users can interact with this new Router as it was a regular Namenode to access the federated view. It uses a mount table to decide which folders are mounted in which namespace (similar to ViewFs). See the HDFS Router-Based Federation documentation for more details on how to set it up. > Router-based HDFS federation > ---------------------------- > > Key: HDFS-10467 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-10467 > Project: Hadoop HDFS > Issue Type: New Feature > Components: fs > Affects Versions: 2.8.1 > Reporter: Íñigo Goiri > Assignee: Íñigo Goiri > Labels: RBF > Fix For: 3.0.0 > > Attachments: HDFS Router Federation.pdf, HDFS-10467.002.patch, > HDFS-10467.PoC.001.patch, HDFS-10467.PoC.patch, > HDFS-Router-Federation-Prototype.patch > > > Add a Router to provide a federated view of multiple HDFS clusters. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.4.14#64029) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: hdfs-issues-unsubscr...@hadoop.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: hdfs-issues-h...@hadoop.apache.org
