Seems like reportErrorOnFile should use getCanonicalPath instead of
getAbsolutePath since the given file may be given as a fully resolved path and
a the storage directory path may include a symlink (ie a file may live on the
storage directory w/o sharing a prefix).
Otherwise +1, looks good.
