Yiqun Lin commented on HDFS-13326:
----------------------------------
[~ywskycn], I'm also OK with adding new option of -update. But one thing I'm
concerning that this will be a incompatible change. That is say, some users
used to use -add option for updating mount tables won't make sense. And they
should use -update instead. We would like to add a incompatible tag for this
JIRA and make this change only for branch-2 and trunk. Because there are 2.9.x,
3.0.x and 3.1.x already released, we would better not introduce this
incompatible change in their subsequent minor release versions.

> From DFSRouterAdmin cmd, currently the update logic is implemented inside add
> operation, where it has some limitation (e.g. cannot update "readonly" or
> removing a destination). Given the RPC alreadys separate add and update
> operations, it would be better to do the same in cmd level.
