Hi Ewan, can we please split this up into sub-tasks of HDFS-12090? From a scan
of the patch, I can see the following logically separable tasks -- changes to
the client protocol (this seems to be in HDFS-12478), the mount manager (this
seems to be HDFS-12666), changes to the snapshot diff etc. I think the patch
for this one should include only the functionality indicated by the title of
this JIRA; everything else should go into its own task.
