The patch was actually directly taken from our internal backport in li-2.7.4.
Didn't realize this was combining other Jiras... thanks for pointing out! I'm
inclined to include HADOOP-16265 , as it is small but required bug fix. If this
makes sense to you, I will upload another patch to exclude other unnecessary
changes.
