On March 5, you commented that you would check this JIRA out "as soon as you
could" in the HDFS-347 merge vote email thread. A month later, I'm sad to hear
that you still have not had the opportunity to do this. Since you were listed
as a watcher on this JIRA, I assumed that you had read it. We are all pretty
busy, I suppose.
Anyway, you need to set {{dfs.client.use.legacy.blockreader.local}} to true to
use the legacy block reader. It defaults to false.
