I apologize. I have been busy with things and summit etc. I have not had time
to spend on this issue.
I am not trying to block the merge. I am posting a comment to ask you why
certain things have been done in certain way. Please mark this jira as
incompatible. I would like turn legacy block reader to true in a subsequent
patch.
