Formation of the Talmud
The work being cataloged encompasses two headings that can be formed using
free-floating subdivisions, Talmud-History and Talmud-Publication and
distribution. The proposal was unnecessary.

Graphic novels-Religious aspects; Graphic novels-Religious aspects-Judaism
The subdivision Religious aspects is usually used to indicate that the topic
plays some role in the practice of the religion see H 1998. It is suggested
that the cataloger consider the heading Judaism in comics. The proposal was
unnecessary.

Judaism and comics
SHM H 310, sec. 1, says, "Establish new headings in the form [ Topic A ] and [
Topic B ] only when the work being cataloged discusses the relationship between
the topics from both perspectives and in such broad terms that it could not
accurately be described by the use of a main heading and subdivision." The work
being cataloged discusses the impact Judaism has on comics but not the way that
comics influence Judaism. The proposal was unnecessary.
Judeo-Iraqi language
The proposal makes it appear as if the cataloger is presenting this as a dead
language. Some further research should be done because it appears as if there
are still speakers of this language. The proposal may be resubmitted.

Virtue-Religious aspects-Judaism
The subheading religious aspects applies only to headings with no religious
implications. Other works on virtue in other religions has the post-coordinated
headings. It is suggested that the cataloger use the headings Virtue and Jewish
ethics. The proposal was unnecessary.
