The Library of Congress (LC) is reducing work on LC vocabularies until the
staff in the Library Collections and Services Group (LCSG) have successfully
moved from Voyager to the Library’s new system, Folio. The move to Folio is a
mission critical system migration, and the Policy, Training, and Cooperative
Programs (PTCP) Division is responsible for organizing and providing training
for all Library staff on the new system.

Because the Folio transition will require significant time and labor from PTCP
staff, routine monthly list work on all vocabularies will be paused with
immediate effect. However, CIP proposals, and select proposals from LC staff,
will continue to move forward on greatly streamlined lists. Select internal
projects will continue during this phase, but external projects will also be
paused.

The Folio migration is anticipated to go live in summer 2025. It is our
intention to restart our regular monthly list work operations as soon as
possible after the migration. A pause to any of our routine operations is not a
decision we make lightly, and we ask for your patience and understanding as we
transform our systems.

Work that will continue:
· Select LC proposals for LCSH, LCC, LCDGT, LCMPT, LCGFT, and CYAC
· CIP proposals
· SACO proposals made for classification only; proposals made in
connection with a subject proposal will be paused
· Select internal LC projects, such as the Indigenous Headings Project,
Dance Project, and DK Class Revision work

Work that will be paused:
· All SACO proposals for LCSH, LCMPT, LCDGT, LCGFT, and CYAC
· All SACO proposals for LCC made in combination with a subject proposal
· All SACO generated project work, including approval of any project
plans
· Quarterly Editorial Meetings and Office Hours
