Hi Libby, You might have an older version of Hebrew OOo that has debugging turned on. We will have a new version on the openoffice.org.il web site tommorrow morning that should run faster.
The word-completion that you see is probably the autocompletion feature that is based on words that you have previously typed yourself, and not the spell checker.
