I think the reason why people write in
english to the mailing list is for two reasons:
1.some of the readers may be from other countries
and don't understand hebrew, or don't have hebrew installed on their
system.
2. when writing in hebrew with english toghether,
the words get mixed up, and makes it difficult to understan.

תאימות גדולה בין האקסל של מיקרוסופט לגיליון האלקטרוני של OO.
פעם כשידידה שאלה אותי על כמה עבודה
עם כמה פונקציות מורכבות ועוד כמה תוספות לא שגרתיות אני פתחתי ספר על אקסל של
מיקרוסופט בעברית ועשיתי את כל הפעולות על האקסל של OO, התאימות היתה גדולה ביותר ובמקומות שלא הייתה חפיפה מושלמת, היה
קל מאוד להסתדר ולהבין מה היא המילה המקבילה בOO.
אני מקווה למצוא קובץ "QA" שעשיתי .. מצאתי כמה אי תאימויות בין הhelp של OO למה שקורה בפועל.
בנוסף, אם יתמידו להיצמד
לארכיטקטורה הכללית של אקסל של MS לא יהיה דחוף לעשות ספרים חדשים ואפשר יהיה להשתמש באלה שכבר
קיימים. ואם יש כמה שינויים, אז אפשר לפנות להוצאות הספרים ולהציע להם להכניס את
התוספות שרלוונטיות לOO.

Which bug reports are to be sent to
bugzilla?
their is many spelling mistakes and syntax
errors. especially in brackets like '(word(' or ')word(' many of the
screens have also sentences whice are bigger then the screen and
etc.
from my first look it seems that their is
more then hundred(!) such mistakes, which probably are noticed to those who
work on the project. Are there any patches to the RC5 release, or any
other way to know where is the development holding? this can minimize the
scope of the bug reports, and help focus more on the fixing, and
corrections. if that is not possible, so it may be good to release another
RC candidate before the final release(even for a short period of
time).
second thing is about the help
files. it's written in the Readme that for now their is no help
files in hebrew. this is a cruciable topic, because if OpenOffice is intended to the regular user,
their is no way to get help unless you know english. this is even more of a
subject because their is no online help in hebrew for
OpenOffice, neither books in hebrew how to use the program, in
contrast of microsoft office products which have books for all
their versions. I personally find it tiresome to read the online
english help. Is their a way that outsiders can help with the
translation?
