Shoshana
Thanks for the info. It is excatly what I need. As my Linux computer has only Linux on it I don't seem to have true type Hebrew fonts installed. I will be copying them onto a the computer in a few days (need time :) ) and them I'm sure I'll be up and working. I'm sure there is more to learn but as I see from the instructions you sent I am on my way.

Thanks
Errol

My problem (both with Fedora AND Open Office) is Hebrew. Where can I go to get help on writing in Hebrew using Open Office in a Linux graphic surroundings?

As OOo uses the Hebrew keyboard from the OS, lets start with Hebrew in Fadora itself.
Here is a tutorial for setting up Hebrew in RedHat 9. It should work with Fadora as well:

After you have done that, you need to enable Hebrew in OpenOffice, and add your Hebrew fonts to it.

To enable Hebrew support:
* Go to tools--prefrences--languages and marked the option "enable CTL"

To add your Hebrew fonts to OOo:
*When OpenOffice is closed, run the application spadmin which is in the same folder as OpenOffice (I don't have Fedora, so I am not sure where they have it installed on your system).
* Click on "Fonts" and then "add" and locate your Hebrew fonts. In my system (gentoo) they are in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype/ (MS core fonts) and /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/culmus (the culmus font pack). The locations might be slightly diffrent in your system.
