Neil: I've run into the root-.pub bug in 3.1.2. We trust client keys on the servers but install (old-style) server keys on clients by hand; clients connect to two cf-serverd boxes. On the first agent run, clients properly convert one of the server keys to the new style and successfully negotiate a connection; at this point, a "root-.pub" file is created. The agent fails to convert the second server key to the new format and is unable to connect to the second server. My solution was to move file "root-.pub" out of the way; the subsequent cf-agent run converts the second server key to the new format and strong authentication is confirmed.
