compile problems w/ lilypond-1.2.3

There seems to be a compile prob w/ lilypond-1.2.3
In lily-guile.cc the variable scm_i_quote returns wont allow it to
compile.
If I change the var name to scm_m_quote (like it si described just
above) it will compile but will not load lily-guile.so.5

I know the description of the errors are vague but any help you can
offer will be greatly appreciated.
