I'm finding that the note heads of Lily, although gorgeous for
adagios etc., are a bit too, well, voluptuous for Scarlatti when he
loads the page up with 2nds and 3rds. For these pieces, I'd like to
change the ratio of notehead to linespacing *slightly* (e.g. 5% or
so), just enough that there is a separation between 3rds and that
2nds be closer to a 45 degree angle.
I suspect that the best way of doing this is to change staff vertical
dimensions rather than notehead size - am I right? In the refman, it
says to use interline for this, but when I look at the param.ly and
paper*.ly stuff, it seems that everything is calculated from
staffheight, including interline. So, if in fact I want to increase
interline from the default (paper20.ly) 5 pt to, say 5.25 pt, is this
the proper way of doing it? (in the paper block of course) Or, should
I set staffheight to 21 pt? Or, is there a better way of doing it
that will stay compatible with Lily in the future?
