The current version of dgs (0.5.10) has a bug in it that prevents
multiple windows from displaying properly, so that may be your problem.
I hope to have a fix for that sometime soon (older versions of dgs don't
work any better).

I'd recommend using the xgps backend for now.

This doesn't appear to have anything to do with gdomap.
