Hi Again:
First of all, many thanks for your support. Finally, the problem was
that strangely the script GNUstep.sh don't work if you just add the
text (without the line that begins with "#!/bin/bash") to the profile script.
Tonight I red more carefully the "profile" file, and I discovered
that (at least in Mandrake and hopefully in other RedHat-like distributions)
is scans the /etc/profile.d directory (obviously ! :) ) all the initialization
scripts. Just adding GNUstep.sh, puts the things working correctly. I didn't
found it in GNUstep the documentation. (Perhaps I was too lazy to reach
the paragraph where it says so). But if not, it would be great include it
in the RH-Howto, becouse (I think) it's cleaner
But I have another question. (The last one for this time on) Well.
When an application is loaded just running it, i.e.
./GSTest
it only opens the GNUstep icon down-left in the screen (like any App in
WM) and the menu bar up-left in the screen, but nothing can be done with
it. The main window doesn't becomes visible for the most of test programs.
It just appears for some of them (i.e. nsbrowsercell, nstabview, windows
). But as for the icon and the popup menu, it seems to be frozen.
Later, I init'ed X again and then the menu bar is functional but not the
main window. All the widgets within the window con't work. And for All the
applications appears a message that says that there is already another
program running with the same name.
I think that perhaps is due to a bad initialization of the Postscript driver.
Could be it. How can I fix it??? I deinstalled dgs driver, as you
suggested. But I hope install it again soon! when it will be slightly more
stable.
Another question is: within gnustep-core tarball there was a xdgs directory.
Compiling and installing it, Is enough in order to get GNUstep working.
Sorry if these questions were done one million times before me.
I'll be the first in the row for download GNUstep x.x.x!!!!
