Hi Kieran,

Guix System uses a declarative configuration, you almost never edit files 
directly to configure things.

You can change your issue file with the `issue' field of your operating-system, 
then running `sudo guix system reconfigure'.  See section 11.3 of the manual, 
"`operating-system' Reference."
