Hello,

I am a newbie in guix though I have been trying to migrate guix about year
from arch. I have previously tried to install guix several times to my
laptop with luks + lvm configuration without success.

In IRC channel, I was told that luks + lvm is not possible due to a bug in
1.4.0 release. In a reddit guix subedit, I was told that luks + lvm is
not possible in guix design for root partition. However, even graphical
installer is perfectly installing luks + filesystem without problem at root
just leaving /boot/efi directory as not encrypted. So I can not
understand why luks + lvm is not possible. Guix documentation does not
report any anything towards LVM.

If I can achieve this, I will migrate to guix totally for all my machines,
several minipc, several labtops, a couple desktops, including my
server/nas. Currently they are running arc/manjaro. Luks + lvm is
important to me. It is my usual setup.

It seems lvm is a second class citizen in graphical installer. There is
no option of using it. lvm commands are not even available at root and
need to be installed.

So manual install is my only option.

I appreciate if someone can authoritatively state whether luks + lvm setup
is possible. I appreciate more if someone provide simple working a
config.scm file for a single disk as a template.

Any insight and help much appreciated.
