Hi Guix hard workers,

I have to say that the update process became much quicker.
 That is good news!

I also have got a new router/modem, which is quicker,
but I think the Guix folk worked very hard to improve many things.
 thanks!!!

on the downside the GUI desktops and to open their applications through
clicking on it, connected with the updated packages still doesn´t work
 well.
I guess it is difficult to improve that.
This didn´t change since the last 4 years.

My LXQT desktop didn´t even show up emacs after the update to Guix 1.5
I can open emacs only through the terminal.
That was not before the update. Emacs was shown up.

After every update there are differences in the GUI desktops.
Can be better, can be worse.
I always hope it will be better,
that an update will improve the desktop,
 but it becomes also worse.

This happened with the MATE and KDE X11 desktop.
I didn´t change anything in those two desktops.
 I simply updated everything.
After that I found those problems until now.

That means that the GUI desktops are very fragile,
I experienced this for the last 4 years.

 That´s my experience.

That´s why I am using KDE wayland desktop
 and seldom LXQT desktop.

I know that there is overwhelming much to do,
too much for too little people,
but I wanted to inform you that through sooooo much work
things are not going to be completely forgotten.

Hopefully time will come to have time to improve also the GUI interfaces
 with their desktops.

For people like me, basic users of Guix,
GUI problems are more visible, because we use them.

I am thankful for everyone who works for GNU Guix,
it is improving day by day,
and I am not here to criticize, but to give hints for improvements.

thank you very much for your work.
there are still tons of improvements,
which mainly people can see who are programmers, experts, specialists...
 not people like me...

 Gottfried
