I agree it would have made sense to be in the loop; it’s also a missed opportunity to create ties between public research and the administration. I think there are features that set Guix apart and that can be useful in this setting: provenance tracking (‘guix system describe’), authenticated channels, downgrade detection, grafts, and packages built from source with very few exceptions. Yet, I’m very happy there’s a strategy to move workstations to a free system and that a declarative distro has been chosen (NixOS is a great distro!). Ludo’.
