I've been messing with the -d (debug) flag for gmake to try to speed things
up a bit and I see that for every included file and the Makefile itself,
gmake goes through it's entire rule tree.
I'm wondering if there is a convienient way to have it think that there
are no prereqs for a short list of specifially named included files
(including the Makefile itself).
This is the kind of thing I'm trying to avoid:
