The build and installation instructions are included with the GNU make
distribution, in the files README and INSTALL. You can get a compressed
tar file at:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/make/
You will also need GNU gzip, if you don't have it, to uncompress it.
You can find that at:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gzip/
Note that Solaris doesn't have a C compiler, so if you don't have one
you'll have to get a pre-built copy of GCC.
All in all, it's probably simplest to just go here:
http://www.sunfreeware.com/
and download prebuilt versions of any GNU software you want for Solaris,
of all sorts. That site is not maintained by GNU, so we can't help you
with details, but there're extensive instructions at the site so you can
read those.
