What do I do if I have another item which wants to use ovar, but at a different place? I agree I have a work around. But it's worse than not using macros at all. In other words, I should have to throw away the idea that primitives/macros are logical (@acronym, @code, @option) and allow me to structure the output (which is important since at the end I'm aiming at DocBook), vs. a plain format (@i, @r, @sc).
