Yes, there is a bug there. When I run `texi2dvi' on a test file that
includes
@menu
* Laplacian::
@end menu
@node Laplacian, , Section Two, Section Two
@subsection Laplacian (@math{\nabla^2}) operators
some text @math{b_l \ldots b_h} some more text
some text @math{[0, \pi]} some more text
some text @math{\nabla^2} some more text
the subsection title contains the plain text, `\nabla', rather than
the upside down delta, as it should.
