Hm. That's too little information to even try helping you. I'd like to... There are many stages involved there. It may be that your version of TeX can't handle the input encoding you are feeding it with -- at the other end it might be that the pdf viewer/renderer you are using isn't finding the relevant fonts. I have been doing TeX (or LaTeX) stuff the last years with non-ASCII without any problems. Which distribution? What are the versions of TeX and LaTeX packages you have? What "pipeline" (text->TeX->pdf->viewer) are you trying? Can you provide a (hopefully) small sample of something not working?
