IN where it must appears EN, Ok, now I can understand. FYI, it actually has nothing to do with @xref vs. other @...ref commands, but with how many arguments are specified.
Anyway, the solution is to add this line to txi-es.tex:
\gdef\putwordin{en}
It'll be in the next release.
