For context, I asked because I have a patch in works for the Org mode in Emacs that adds support for this feature, and I was unsure if I have to check Texinfo for compatibility before emitting @example blocks with the language argument. When I added support for @math, I had to check if Texinfo supports it first, by compiling a little document. I am glad it will not be necessary here!
