We've used it very lightly, but have had no problem with jobs just hanging. We do occasionally have jobs that fail and get retried, but nothing has gotten "stuck" (and the job failure is certainly no DJ's fault). But if I were you, I'd want to hear from someone using it more heavily than we are. We are switching to Sidekiq for our background processing, largely because of the multi-threading capabilities we intend to take advantage of, and its performance with a large (> 1000 entries) job queue. But from what I've seen, DJ is just fine for a smaller job queue where a high degree of parallelism is not a necessity, and with Workless added in it will scale your worker dynos from 0 to 1 and back again based on the state of the queue.
