Thanks for letting me know about the paypal issue, Paul. It should just convert on the fly - figure out how much you want to donate, and do a google search like "20 USD in GBP" and it'll give you the current exchange.
We could just build one locally, but that will only test it in the current conditions. What we don't want is 2000 units in the field because people thought the design was OK, and then a massive storm that blows most of them away. That would be, literally, a disaster. So we're trying to nail down the design before we build, so we have at least as good an understanding of the building and its limits (it's only a couple of hundred dollars, after all) before we take the risk of giving them to people to live in. It's a cautious approach, but we're engineers. Thank you for your support, let me know if you have any build questions!
