One small measure that might help fireproof yurts is to smear silicon glue over exposed edges or anywhere that is not covered by foil/tape. I've never heard anyone talk about this idea, but it seems promising to me. Silicon glue is relatively cheap, non-toxic, and lasting. However, it couldn't be applied under tape because it creates a surface that resists adhesion.
