I used 2" panels this year. It was my first yurt and I'd never even seen one (just pictures) I thought I was looking at 2" panels online. It worked great, my buddy Eric figured out how to fold the base and each 1/2 section of roof. I hit the playa with 3 pieces. Went up in about an hour with help from the locals. We were right next to a music camp that was really loud and basey. I got some vibration but little noise. With my home depot bucket swamp cooler, & 12vdc exhaust fans it never got warmer than 76*f. I use a skill saw with a 60 tooth blade to cut the panels. The smoothest cuts you ever saw. When it rained, the tape band joining the roof to base leaked like crazy (6" bidirectional) every wrinkle of the panel channeled water under the tape. I'm thinking of using RTV on it next year. Anyone else have this problem?
