it is usually easiest to simply use a sharp razor knife and cut along the seam and cut the tape for tear down.
After a couple time you build up a few layers of tape, which then easily is torn off. some people use a VERY sticky clear packing tape, upon which your sealing tape goes. if you try to pull tape off all the time, your edges will get ragged, as the foil / foam will tear off after it is baked in the sun. I've torn a canvas tarp with duct tape in the playa just this way, so i ALWAYS have an extra razor knife and blades.
