For those who are married to the idea of thrashing around with the stuff (or 
who have recalciitrant U's): it's a little-known fact, but you can get stuff 
like rebar in the ground UNstuck by, believe it or not, driving it in a nudge 
more. Yes, it goes in a tad deeper, but it breaks whatever is sticking to it 
quite effectively.
