I believe there's an ongoing debate, but at least some people claim the difference between white and foil in terms of heat reflection is negligible. I say go for it if you really want to.
I have the opposite problem: the only polyiso panels available in my area don't have foil coating - they're just primed. I'm trying to decide if I should try taping mylar to them or just give them a solid layer of paint.
