hmmmm
I put one H12 & one H15 into my 4 x 8 trailer along with 3 or 4 sheets
1/2" ply. Fit nice & snugly with just enough room for a milk carton to
keep it all from shifting! The back gate wouldn't fit back in, but a
couple strong truck hitches & some buffering materials kept everything
tight & safe.

One HY takes up 4x8x1. Two will take 4x8x2.
The rest is small or squishable: rope, rebar, tarp, etc.

I'm heading out to the playa on the 18th. I live in Reno and I was
planning on building a hexayurt next week (if I get my shit
together). I have a full size truck I'm taking out there. I'm up
for if u wanna build one here and I can help transport it out. Not
sure how much room 2 yurts would take up. I may have a possibility
of borrowing a small utility trailer. When are you headed to the
playa and what days would you have available to work on it?

Short explanation & request: The hexayurt I built in
Asheville, NC can't be transported to Burning Man. I'll need
to build another in Reno. (Or San Fransisco) Complicating
factor: I won't have a vehicle to lug material from the
harware store to a build site.
Alternative request: Does anyone in Reno (Or San Fransisco)
have a hexayurt I can buy or rent for Burning Man?
More fun explanation & request:
Greetings & salutations from Asheville, NC. Home of delicious
beer, tree-covered mountains, and a large freak community.
I find myself in an embarrassing hexayurt emergency.
Embarrassing because I thought I had planned for every
contingency, only to find myself begging to strangers for help
at the last minute.
Here is the situation: 2011 was my first burn. I _loved_ the
hexayurts, and resolved to bring one with me to the playa in
2012.
Within six weeks of retuning home I built my first Hexayurt
with this group's help. Here is a gratuitous link to pictures
of my structure, which, incidentally, won the 2011 "Most
Creative Campsite at LEAF" award. ( http://imgur.com/a/lBwCC )
I rented truck-space to transport this beautiful yurt
across-country; sadly I have just been informed this is no
longer possible. (The story about what happened to the truck
is complex, and I don't want to go into it. Suffice it to say
that you should never trust hippies with large machinery.)
I can't find an alternative way to bring the yurt out west
this late in the game. Besides, I'm flying out to San
Fransisco to help build infrastructure for Sacred Spaces
Village in four days. I simply have too much on my plate to
search for another truck.
As best I can tell, there are two solutions:
1) Build another Yurt in Reno, then have it transported to the
playa from there. This, of course, opens a host of other
problems: Where will I find the materials? Where will I find a
covered area to build the structure? How will I transport
materials to the build-site?
2) Buy a hexayurt in Reno or San Fransisco. (Preferred option)
Any advice, help, direction will be greatly appreciated & add
to your positive karma.
