FWIW, at least for the regular six-sided (H12?) hexayurt, I was very impressed with the security of the rope ring halfway up the roof, anchored in the middle of each side with ratchet straps to rebar U's. That thing's not going anywhere. I'm not even sure you need the wallop ring-o-tape with that scheme.
PS Ask nicely and I'll share the magic trick for getting those rebar U's out of the ground during teardown.
