Well, the fact that the net does not map perfectly to the dome is part of 
the appeal. It adds sort of organic curved lines to contrast the straight 
lines of the dome. It would be anchored down at the 4 "corners" where the 
larger right angle triangles are, since that slope seems to provide the 
best angle to the ground. You may be right though, a rope ring might be 
more rigid in that there are fewer points to tension.

Here is a basic idea of what I'm thinking; though I don't expect the net to 
be this big. I'm thinking a 9'x9' camo

the dome, which is 12' at it's widest points. At one point, I thought about 
including a xmas light net over this as well to create a weird curved 3 
dimensional point plane of lights over the dome at night. Decided to go 
slightly less complex.
