n-th ing everyone who says don't do this in your living room. Not even with a craft knife, but certainly not with a jig saw. You need to find a venue—workshop, garage, hackerspace, roof, vacant lot (!) where you can do this and make a mess, because you will make a mess and that mess is nasty.
